Echoing the unique atmosphere of an Alpine chalet, the hotel restaurant Ochsen is well-situated in the Wangen area of Stuttgart. Lots of wood, a tiled stove and ornamental ceilings all blend seamlessly to create a warm and cosy environment. The cooking is suitably Swabian, but borrows from international cooking traditions with ease. The focus is on light fare, which is frequently highlighted by weekly specialities. This cooking plan is one of the reasons why the Gastronomy Prize of the Stuggarter Wochenblatt newspaper was awarded to the Ochsen. There is space in the restaurant and wine bar for 50 people, whilst the Alpen-Stube has seating for 48 people. For the snuggest dining experience, enjoy your meal in the corner by the fireplace.
Good food, friendly and courteous staff
Very good wine and food is good too
The WeinStube Katzer not only offers an excellent wine, but also a varied menu. The food is very good. Furniture and decoration is coherent and cozy. We feel very comfortable there.
We are part of the grape harvest ??
Muskattrollinger Weisherbst is recommended
I can only recommend the wine and Manfred Katzer is always available for an interesting conversation.
Very nice and above all good! The price / performance ratio is right and you can sit outside!
Everything great
Good food and hospitable
The Rehschäufele was to clean - super tender and delicious
Location great, service super nice and authentic, wine and drinks were delicious! Unfortunately, the food was not good: cheese cubes were relatively little. The Camembert (only vegetarian main course) was carelessly prepared and the frying fat tasted of fish. The spaetzle was not fresh, too cold and wet served. The Fleischküchle were rather dry. The Tafelspitz, on the other hand, was good. We recommend the winery to have a drink in good weather, but not to eat.
Never open and never reachable
Always good wine
The food is very good, the wine is good, everything is great, the operating family is always nice and accommodating. Sit outside in warm weather and comfortably inside in winter.
I rarely give 5 stars, but perfectly appropriate here. Food and wine are always recommended.
The quality of the food and wine is ALWAYS good, I have never been disappointed in years. From the vintner steak, breaded schnitzel, hunter's schnitzel *, meat cakes * to sauerbraten with spaetzle and boiled fillet with horseradish and cranberries - both very tender - to the farmer's sausage - very fine and not so fatty - with sauerkraut and white sausages, everything is very, very good Quality. The prices are very humane and at broom level. There are also delicious homemade creme brulee, ice cream with rhubarb or similar from time to time. In summer you can sit outside behind the house and there are pretty, cozy parlors inside. * = changing daily special. Katzers are always friendly and also have the service under control.
Very nice owners and good, inexpensive food. Good wine

Good prices. Very good wines. Enjoy your meal.
